Welcome to Gorteen Acre Veterinary Clinic

Based in Athenry Town, 20 minutes outside Galway City, we are a mixed animal veterinary clinic here to serve you and your animals requirements. Our team of vets provide services for all types of animals from equine, farm animals and small animals to more exotic species. We pride ourselves on our own very high standards and treat your pet as if it was one of our own.

Large Animal Care

We offer a full 24 hour call out service for our large animal clients. We provide ultrasound scanning for pre-breeding examinations and pregnancy diagnosis, foot-trimming and all other routine services including TB Testing and herd health plans. We also provide a full range of products for sale in our clinic. Call us today to discuss any queries.

Small Animal Care

In Gorteen Acre Vets the care of our patients is of paramount importance. We offer a full range of services for your pet. We offer vaccination and health checks, microchipping and passports, dental care and surgery. We have invested in the latest diagnostic equipment in order to give your pet the best care available.

Equine Care

We provide a full 24 hour emergency service for all of our equine clients. Pregnancy scanning, lameness examinations and vetting prior to sales are all covered by our Vets. We also have state of the art X-ray facilities. Call us today to discuss any queries.
